Developing a ‘winning mindset’ for athletes, coaches (2021)

Fifty-five athletes under the Youth and Sports Department training scheme attended a motivational programme entitled ‘Winning Mindset’ at the Lecture Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium on Friday.

The programme provided knowledge for athletes to develop a mindset of how to think like a champion, thus improving their performance. It was delivered by Education Officer from Sports Council Secretariat, Department of Co-Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education Haji Othman bin Haji Jaidin.

Football technical centre on track to finish by year end (2021)

The technical centre and mini-grandstand under the FIFA Forward Project is on track to be completed by the end of the year, said Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) President Pengiran Haji Matusin bin Pengiran Haji Matasan during a contract signing ceremony on Friday.

The contract to build the project at Jalan Pusat Persidangan was awarded to WLW Developer and Trading Sdn Bhd and was signed on Friday with FABD.

Brunei team join international Go competition (2021)

The Brunei Go team participated in the Southeast Asia Online Friendship Games hosted by the Thailand Go Association on April 24-25.

The international tournament saw participation from Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand. They competed in two categories – Low Dan and High Dan – with 60 players.

Charity run for orphans, OKU set in May (2021)

In conjunction with the upcoming International Nurses and Midwives Day on May 12, the Nurses’ Association Brunei Darussalam (PENJURU) will be organising the Charity Run 2021 to help raise funds for orphans and people with different abilities (OKU) under the association.

The run will be divided into two categories: Virtual Run and 10km Charitable Run. The Virtual Run includes two sub-categories – 50km Individual and 300km Team Challenge – with the latter allowing four in one team.

Strengthening ties with bowling (2021)

Hajah Jarah binti Haji Sulaiman won the Queen of the Lanes Challenge Trophy held in conjunction with the sixth anniversary of the Queen of the Lanes (QotL) at the iBowl Utama Bowling in Jalan Tutong on Sunday.

The bowler recorded 702 pinfalls to secure the women’s singles title ahead of Hajah Mastura binti Haji Sulaiman who totalled 690 pinfalls followed by Cynthia with 660.
