World Cup 2018: Fifa warns broadcasters about focusing on women

Broadcasters have been criticised on social media for focusing on female fans at games



Broadcasters have been ordered to stop their cameras zooming in on "hot women" in the crowd at football matches, Fifa's diversity boss says.

Federico Addiechi said football's world governing body needed to help tackle sexism at the World Cup.

Eden Hazard: 'I prefer to lose with Belgium than win with France'

Eden Hazard criticised France's playing style after Belgium's 1-0 defeat in a World Cup semifinal on Tuesday, saying he would rather lose with Belgium than win with France.

Belgium entered the semifinal as the tournament's leading scorers, but Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku were muted by France, who clinched their third World Cup final appearance in the last 20 years thanks to Samuel Umtiti's second-half header.

World Cup 2018: FA fined £50k for England players' unauthorised socks

Eric Dier was one of three England players to wear the socks, which have white dots around the ankles




The FA has been fined 70,000 Swiss francs (£50,000) after Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Raheem Sterling wore "unauthorised" socks at the World Cup.

The players wore branded ankle support socks over official Nike socks, ignoring a Fifa warning to stop.

Mario Mandzukic's extra-time strike completed an impressive turnaround as Croatia beat England 2-1 in Moscow to reach the World Cup final for the first time in their history.

England made an electric start with Kieran Trippier's early goal and for a large period of the game looked good value to book their passage to the final for the first time since 1966, but Croatia somehow battled through their apparent jadedness to tame the Three Lions, Mandzukic landing the decisive blow.

World Cup 2018 Report: France 1 Belgium 0 - Umtiti heads Les Bleus into World Cup final


France booked their place in the World Cup final as a second-half header from defender Samuel Umtiti saw off Belgium




Samuel Umtiti was the unlikely hero as France reached the World Cup final for the third time in 20 years courtesy of a 1-0 win over Belgium in St Petersburg on Tuesday.

Defender Umtiti headed home a corner from Antoine Griezmann in the 51st minute to settle the all-European tie, booking Les Bleus a trip to Moscow and a clash against either Croatia or England.
